According to ESPN, Colts receiver Marvin Harrison has been involved in a shooting this past Tuesday in Philadelphia. Harrison allegedly pursued the victim outside his bar in which they had argued and fired multiple shots at him and his car. The victim was grazed by one of the bullets and an uninvolved girl was injured by the broken glass. The .50 shells fired apparently match the gun licensed to Harrison, which was found at his car wash days later. No charges are filed and Harrison has not been arrested since witnesses are still being contacted.
It remains to be seen whether the fight was started when the victim confronted Harrison about his god-awful fantasy performance this past season, in which he played only 5 games and caught just one touchdown. However, authorities and fantasy owners such as myself have not ruled this out as a likely motive.
Perhaps Harrison saw an opening among trouble-making wide receivers after Randy Moss proved an effective model citizen in New England last year. Harrison likely jumped at the chance to join the esteemed ranks of the “Players Who Could Be Amazing But Consistently F It Up” club, which include such ball-hawkers as Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, and Kellen Winslow II.
Update: Interestingly, What It Do posted the story before espn.com. Just thought you’d like to know who runs things.
