It took George W Bush almost a decade, but he’s finally done it. According to a recent poll, Bush has managed to become the least popular president in United States history. This marks the first time a president’s approval rating has dropped below 30 percent. Recent polls among a panel of historians yield similar results: over half agree that Bush’s presidency has been the nation’s worst.
This must be a great disappointment for the White House Wardrobe Team. In recent days, Bush has tried to raise his rating by wearing more energy-efficient ties instead of his usual blue or crimson. These newfangled solar-powered ties are reported to use 50 percent less energy than the traditional blues and reds. Here is Bush on Tuesday fielding questions about his newly efficient wardrobe:
Bush is also calling for a 770 million dollar package for global food aid. This seems at first like a nice gesture on his part until you realize that Bush’s extravaganzas in Iraq and Iran cost a combined 753 million dollars per day. Heck, I’d suggest we give our military a day off and double the check. But that might compromise national security, which is the top priority.
“How much energy am I saving with this tie? About this much.”
