When The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian finally puts out TV ads, you know the summer movie madness is about ready to take off. But What It Do is once again looking ahead to May…that’s May of 2010. That’s right—two years from May 7th, Lucy and Edmund sail to the edge of the world in The Chronicle
s of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. All the major actors remain the same but the director will change to Michael Apted, director of the ridiculous The World Is Not Enough, Val Kilmer’s Thunderheart, Gorillas In the Mist, and Coal Miner’s Daughter. Wait, my bad–that last one was that other Sissy Spacek movie.
But Apted’s most notable and lasting project has been his internationally acclaimed Up Series, in which he interviewed a group of seven-year-olds for a documentary in 1964 and has returned every seven years to follow up on their lives and stories. What started as 7 Up has led to 2005’s 49 Up, the seventh film in the series.
But The Dawn Treader is not all. According to Narniaweb.com, The Silver Chair is already green-lit for a post-2010 release.
